Privacy policy
The short version: your account holds your email, plan and credit usage. If you sign in with Google, we receive only your name, email address and Google account ID, and use them only to sign you in. Questions and meeting audio pass through our server to our AI and speech-recognition providers to be answered and transcribed, and we do not store them. Your resume, knowledge base and conversations stay on your computer. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
01Who we are
Champspace AI is a desktop application and website published at champspace.in. This policy covers both.
02Your account
You create an account with your email address and a password, or with your Google account. We store your email address, your name if Google provides it, a one-way hash of your password if you set one (never the password itself), your plan, and your credit balance.
For each answer or listening session we record how much credit it used - the number of AI tokens or the length of audio - so your balance is correct. We do not record what was said or asked.
03Signing in with Google
If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares three things with us, with your permission: your name, your email address (which Google has verified), and your Google account ID. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not ask for access to your Gmail, contacts, calendar, Drive or any other Google data.
We use this information only to create your Champspace AI account or sign you in to it, to link it to an existing Champspace AI account with the same email address, and to send you the account emails described below. It is stored with your account and is not sold, used for advertising, or shared with anyone except as described in this policy.
When you sign in to the desktop app through the website, the website gives the app a one-time code that expires after two minutes and only works with that copy of the app. The app exchanges it for its own sign-in; no password or Google data is passed to the app.
Champspace AI's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
04Emails we send
We email you about your account: a welcome message when you sign up, a security notice when your account is signed in to from a new device or browser, a receipt when you pay, and a notice when your credit runs out. To recognise a new device we store a one-way hash of the app's device id or your browser's description - never your IP address or location. Free accounts also receive occasional tips and offers about paid plans; every one of these has an unsubscribe link, and you can turn them off in your account settings. Account and payment emails are always sent.
Emails are delivered by our email delivery provider, which receives your email address and the message. We keep a copy of each email we send you with your account.
05What passes through our server
While you are listening, the meeting audio playing on your computer is streamed through our server to our speech-recognition provider for transcription. When you ask a question, the question - with the parts of your profile, instructions or knowledge base that help answer it, and a screenshot if you attached one - is sent through our server to our AI provider.
Our server passes these on and returns the result. It does not store audio, transcripts, questions, screenshots or answers. Those providers' handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies.
06What stays on your computer
Your profile, resume, job description, instructions, knowledge base files, conversation history and settings are saved only on your computer, in a separate folder for each account you sign in with. They are not uploaded to us.
07Your computer's anonymous id
Each Free account can be used on one computer. To enforce this, the app sends an anonymous id for your computer: a one-way hash of the id your operating system gives the machine. It cannot be turned back into that id and identifies nothing else about you or your computer. We store it with the accounts used on that computer.
08Payments
Paid plans are paid by UPI or through our payment provider, Instamojo. We never see or store your card or bank details. For each payment we keep the billing details you enter at checkout (name, mobile number, state, and any address, PIN code, business name and GSTIN), the plan, the amount, and the payment reference (such as the UPI reference number), because they are needed for your GST invoice and our tax records.
09The website
The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. When you sign in on the website, your session is kept in your browser's local storage. Downloads are served from our release host, whose own logs record the request in the ordinary way any web server does.
10Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising. We share it only with the services that run Champspace AI on our behalf - hosting and database, email delivery, payments, and the AI and speech-recognition providers described above - and only what each needs to do its job, or when the law requires it.
11How long we keep data, and security
We keep your account information, including what Google shared when you signed in, for as long as you have an account, and delete it when you ask us to delete the account. Payment and invoice records are kept for as long as Indian tax law requires.
Data travels to and from our server over encrypted HTTPS connections, passwords are stored only as one-way hashes, and access to our database is restricted.
12Your rights
You can ask us to export or delete your account at any time, which deletes your email, name, Google account ID, usage records and the emails we kept. Payment records we must keep for tax purposes are the only exception. You can also remove Champspace AI's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account settings, under Security, Third-party apps and services. Deleting the app's folder on your computer removes everything stored there.
13Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will also be noted on the website.
